Bioinformatics
The field of bioinformatics is a rather complex, including subjects such as biology, genetics, computer science, statistics and mathematics. For studying in Århus, (2007-2009) only the masters program is available and requires a relevant bachelor such as molecular chemistry or computer science. The bioinformatics reside at Bioinformatics Research Center (BiRC), so you will be inscribed here; in my case this meant that I did not belong to any institutes, as I got my bachelor in Aalborg.
The studyprogramme is personal, as the courses reflects the individuals interests and previous qualifications. BiRC has some courses in bioinformatics, but most courses are provided by other institutes such as computer science, biology, chemistry, statistics etc.
